Dialogue Institute Turkey Trip
“As our team entered a tunnel network underneath Cappadocia, it really set-in just how unique this video project was…the upside down Medusa head in the cisterns below Istanbul, the Blue Mosque, the ruins of Cappadocia, and most of all the people of Turkey…truly a remarkable assignment.” – Luke Small, Trifecta Videographer
The Dialogue Institute aims to promote mutual understanding, respect and cooperation among people of diverse faiths and cultures by creating opportunities for direct communication and meaningful shared experiences. Until recently, one of those shared experiences was a yearly trip to Turkey by OKC community leaders. The whirlwind tours exposed Oklahomans to diverse cultures and experiences while exploring numerous locales, meeting officials and spending time with Turkish families.
In 2016 the Dialogue Institute partnered with Trifecta Communications to document one such trip. The team captured key moments on camera and produced a powerful “cause” video, highlighting the importance of such endeavors. Using bare-bones gear and a run-and-gun shooting style, combined with well-staged interviews, the team relied on tons of natural-sound and solid quotes to create a strong narrative.
“I’ve been to many places around the world, but this was one of my favorites,” said Armand McCoy, Trifecta Communications President. “My hope is that our team captured the life-changing nature of these type of trips and helped illustrate their importance. It definitely made an impact on our team.”
